The Air Force recently completed a major eight-year upgrade of its B-1B Lancer fleet.

The service announced it completed Integrated Battle Station, or IBS, modifications earlier this month to 60 of the 62 long-range bombers in its inventory. Two aircraft are regularly booked for test operations.

The B-1B's composite wing/body configuration, variable geometry wings, and afterburning turbofan engines combine to provide long range, maneuverability, and high speed while increasing survivability.
